The Greeley Arts Picnic just celebrated its 40th anniversary!  Greeley Unexpected is proud to be a part of it and to share the legacy of this event. Back in 1979, the inaugural year of the Greeley Arts Picnic, 2,000 community members gathered at Lincoln Park to shop the array of handcrafted artwork, and now over 20,000 individuals from all over the country join us here in Greeley for the fun-filled weekend.

Arts and Crafts for Sale

More than 150 artists’ and crafters’ had their work available for purchase throughout the Arts Picnic. Vendors ranged from handmade dog clothing to hand-painted artwork, from yard signs to clay vases. All of the vendors added something unique to the artistic atmosphere

Entertainment for All

Aside from shopping, attendees enjoyed some of Colorado’s best talent on the two stages while stilt walkers, balloon twisters, and magicians roamed the park. The Creation Station had fun crafts for kids to do.

What’s a Picnic Without Food?

And how about the delicious food? Did anyone try the fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade? The food court at the Arts Picnic is indeed a venue that can not only expose individuals to new cultural cuisine, but it unites all attendees as one when they share a common interest, FOOD!  The beer garden was also there for folks sit back and relax while you enjoy the atmosphere and music.

See you in 2019!

The Arts Picnic takes place on the last full weekend of July. Stay tuned for next year’s Arts Picnic and prepare for another exciting weekend.
