Did you know that Greeley is home to one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation? Banner Health’s North Colorado Medical Center announced that they have received the Healthgrades 2017 America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award™. This places NCMC among the top 1% of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide for consistent, year-over-year superior clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades.
This is the third consecutive year NCMC has received this designation. According to the NCMC press release, “From 2013 through 2015, patients treated in hospitals achieving Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award™ have, on average, had a 26.1% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award, as measured across 19 rated conditions and procedures where mortality is the outcome.”
Some of North Colorado Medical Center’s other accolades include being named one of America’s Top 100 Hospitals in Pulmonary Care (2013-2017); Critical Care Excellence Award (2009-2017); Pulmonary Care Excellence Award (2009-2017) and received eight 5-star quality ratings in five different service lines.
The need for a hospital is something no one really wants to have, but it happens, and it’s reassuring to know that one of the best in the country is waiting for us over on 16th Street.
NCMC was one of only three Colorado hospitals that made the 2017 top-50 list:
- North Colorado Medical Center – Greeley, CO
- Saint Francis Medical Center – Colorado Springs, CO
- Saint Joseph Hospital – Denver, CO
Three more Colorado hospitals made Healthgrades’ top-100 list:
- Good Samaritan Medical Center – Lafayette, CO
- Lutheran Medical Center – Wheat Ridge, CO
- Poudre Valley Hospital – Fort Collins, CO
