One of our favorite things here at Greeley Unexpected is music. Here are some upcoming music festivals in Greeley that you’re going to want to put on your 2017 to-do list:

UNC Greeley Jazz FestivalThe UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival
April 20-22, 2017
The largest event of its kind in the nation, the UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival brings together internationally recognized artists, jazz lovers, award-winning clinicians, and over 250 college, high school, and middle school big bands, combos, and jazz vocal groups from across the country. Each year, over 8,000 participants enjoy the main stage concerts, after-hours sessions, daytime performances, and the many educational workshop sessions.

Concerts on the 9th Street Plaza and other venues throughout the downtown area.  Local and regional bands will play indie pop, alternative rock, reggae, and more.  Come and check it out.  Greeley Unexpected will have a booth at the event.  Stop by and say, “hello.”

In addition to great food and fun activities. Greeley’s Cinco de Mayo Festival has a full day of music planned.  Mexican and Spanish styles such as mariachi, dance, folk will entertain festival crowds all day long.

Friday FestFriday Fest
June through September on Friday nights
Don’t miss the first Friday Fest of the year on June 2; it’s the Greeley Unexpected Kick-Off.  It’s a super-charged Friday Fest/Go-Cup on the 9th Street Plaza. A free concert from 6-9 p.m. with RETRO, an 80s tribute band. Friday Fests are Go-Cup events that allow adults to purchase an alcoholic beverage at any of the establishments in the Go-Cup district and carry it onto the plaza for the concert and other activities, as well as between the bars and restaurants.

June 9 -10, 2017
The Greeley Blues Jam is a family oriented atmosphere where everyone can expect a wonderful Blues experience, general admission tickets are $30. Great food and drink, merchandise vendors, plus camping & RV sites available just outside the Island Grove Arena. Don’t miss the Friday pre-festival activities in Historic Downtown Greeley during a blues-themed Friday Fest. Performances start at 3 p.m. with music on the downtown plaza stage starting at 5 p.m., and live Blues at over 17+ bars and restaurants across downtown. (And you don’t have to pay a cover charge to hear any of it!) This fantastic kickoff to the Greeley Blues Jam and will put a smile on your face and get your feet moving!

Most folks might just think of the annual arts picnic as a place to purchase unique arts and crafts, but don’t forget about the weekend full of music.  Arts Picnic weekend begins with a Friday Fest, with the sounds of FUNKIPHINO, one of Colorado’s favorite high-energy dance bands.   Saturday and Sunday in Lincoln Park, you’ll hear the sounds of folk, rock, R&B, salsa, swing, and more.
