Joaquin Zihuatanejo: poet, spoken word artist, and award-winning teacher.

At this event, Joaquin Zihuatanejo presents this unflinching look at the life of a young inner city boy. He grew up without a father, and a very young mother, but found refuge in a world of stories and poems thanks to his beautiful all encompassing Abuelo.

This event recognizes the strength in building community around ethnic identity and pride. This is achieved by honoring and celebrating those who have inspired us and contributed to our individual successes in life.

Please join the High Plains Library District, Greeley Unexpected, and Greeley Creative District in this community event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15). Thanks to our event venue sponsor Zoe’s Café for making the community event possible.

Seating is limited and on a first-come, first served basis.

See the Facebook Event for more details.
